Bina Ahmad (she/her) is a social justice attorney working in the fields of criminal defense\, civil rights\, international human rights\, and animal rights. She primarily works on the criminalization of poverty\, prosecutor accountability\, and police abuse. Bina practiced for nearly a decade as a public defender\, with the Legal Aid Society of New York City and The Office of the Federal Public Defender in Los Angeles. In addition\, she has worked with several Palestine advocacy organizations and animal rights organizations. As part of her work supporting radical movements and state-targeted communities\, she has provided legal advice and support to numerous movement organizations\, and conducted hundreds of Know Your Rights trainings from a curriculum she created.

During her talk\, Bina will discuss creative\, intersectional advocacy and legal arguments to bring animal liberation under the umbrella of all social justice struggles\, and how to show that animal liberation matters for all social justice movements.
