The Department of Economics invites you to the 3rd Annual Tracy Mott Workshop. In collaboration with the Department of Geography &\; the Environment\, the workshop will feature research by Paul Sutton (快活app professor of geography)\, Juan Carlos Lopez (CAHSS professor of economics)\, and guest speakers John Carruthers and Peter Tsigaris. 快活app faculty and invited presenter CAHSS alum Ellie Lochhead will also participate in a panel on housing and homelessness.

快活app John Carruthers

John Carruthers's current work focuses on evaluating environmental remediation projects in the Puget Sound region of Washington State\, and the value of public education and other amenities in the Seoul Metropolitan Area. Before joining Cornell University\, Carruthers worked at George Washington University (GW)\, where he was the founding director of the Sustainable Urban Planning Program\, which he led to PAB accreditation. His research has been published in leading journals\, including \;Environment and Planning B\, the \;International Regional Science Review\, the \;Journal of Economic Geography\, the \;Journal of Regional Science\, \;and others.

快活app Peter Tsigaris

Peter Tsigaris's research interests span the areas of environmental economics\, taxation policy and issues\, decisions under risk\, and education economics. He has presented his work at conferences around the world\, has published over twenty five manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals\, and has been recognized with multiple awards for his innovative teaching\, such as using experimental games to stimulate students&rsquo\; interest in economics and sustainability concepts. Tsigaris also led the development of a new master in Environmental Economics and Management program at Thompson Rivers University.
