快活app Amache Project to Host Open House Events July 8 & 9

Open House events will be catered to the public and former internees and their families
The 快活app鈥檚听, which is spearheaded by the Department of Anthropology, will host open house events on July 8 and 9 at the former internment camp site near Granada, Colo., a three- to four-hour drive from Denver. The events are open to the public, as well as to former internees and their families.
The July 8 open house is open to former Amache internees and their families. The day begins at 8 a.m. with guided tours of family barracks, recently reconstructed structures and a visit to the Amache Museum. Participants can share stories and make connections with other community members. A family-style dinner will take place from 5 to 8 p.m., and an RSVP is required by July 1. The July 9 open house is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visitors can watch archaeologists as they uncover the history of Amache on-site, take a tour, learn about site surveys and watch active excavation. In the afternoon, visitors can go to the Amache Museum to see new collections and museum upgrades and get practice identifying objects in the archaeology field lab.
The 快活app Amache Project is a long-term community-based research project at听, one of 10 World War II-era Japanese American internment camps.
The project is run by Dr.听听through the 快活app鈥檚 Department of Anthropology. This summer, the 快活app Amache Project will be leading a month of field research at Amache and the Amache Museum.
