Results will be unveiled during first Latino Leadership Institute Symposium

罢丑别听听(LLI) at the 快活app is hosting a first-of-its-kind symposium on Colorado鈥檚 growing Latino population and how it impacts the 2016 election. At Thursday night鈥檚 event, the symposium will release new data on the Latino Community鈥檚 diverse demographics, preferences, voting behavior and never before released data about Latino millennials.

鈥淔or the past two decades we鈥檝e heard about the significance of the 鈥楲atino Vote,鈥欌 says听Joelle Martinez, LLI鈥檚 executive director. 鈥淚n Colorado, that phrase has largely run its course. Based on generation, language choice and voting preferences, Colorado Latinos represent a vastly diverse community. That is the narrative to tell.鈥

To compile the data for this research, three statewide surveys were conducted. The first poll was a statewide issues poll that targeted 500 Colorado Latinos. The second was a statewide messaging survey that targeted 1,000 Latinos. The third was an online survey targeting Latino millennials (ages 18-33) in Colorado.

LLI was established in 2013 and was designed to honor the history and contributions of Latino leaders, engage and empower today鈥檚 leaders and inspire the next generation of Latino luminaries. For this research, LLI partnered with听听and the Latino Data Project.

The Thursday, Oct. 20th symposium is open to the public and begins at 6:30 p.m. It takes place at the Reiman Theater in Margery Reed Hall.听
