Announcement  •

Dear students, faculty and staff:

On Friday, the U.S. Department of Education (ED) proposed new rules for interpreting Title IX, the federal statute that prohibits discrimination based on sex (including sexual harassment and sexual violence) in educational programs and activities that receive federal financial assistance, like colleges and universities. At this point, these rules have not been formally adopted. Rather, the federal rulemaking process requires that ED must allow for a period of notice and public comment on these proposed rules before they can be adopted and put into practice. Our current policies and procedures remain unchanged.听

The 快活app will be working closely with other universities and national organizations, including the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) and the Association of Title IX Administrators (ATIXA), to monitor this rulemaking process. If you are interested in reviewing the ED鈥檚 proposed rules, you may find them .

快活app remains committed to upholding our values and fully supporting all of our students and campus community members. We also want to reiterate the University鈥檚 mission to create a supportive and inclusive campus environment, and the University鈥檚 commitment to providing a thorough, prompt, and equitable response to allegations of discrimination, harassment, or gender-based violence.听

The Office of Equal Opportunity & Title IX, in collaboration with other University partners, work to foster an environment of equal opportunity and equity for students, faculty and staff in all aspects of educational programming and employment. The website for the Office of Equal Opportunity & Title IX provides information about Title IX, (including submitting an anonymous report), and a that are available to members of our community.听

If you have any questions about the 快活app鈥檚 current policies or procedures related to Title IX, you may contact the University鈥檚 interim Title IX coordinator, Molly Hooker, at molly.hooker@du.edu or 303-871-7016.
