Yesterday, we sent an email about our as well as our new interim . Freedom of expression and safety can be mutually achieved, and this policy, which was developed over the last several months, strives to underline that.ÌýÌýÌý

We want to express our gratitude to the ¿ì»îapp community members who are peacefully and respectfully engaging in acts of free expression. However, we also want to continue to be quite clear: freedom of expression discrimination and harassment. Antisemitism and other such behavior will not be tolerated. If you experience or witness acts of discrimination or harassment, please contact who is responsible for receiving and responding to those reports and concerns. For any needed crisis support, including after hours, students should please reach out to the , which is available to ¿ì»îapp students regardless of insurance coverage. Additional information on support systems available to the community can be found on the .Ìý

As we head into the weekend, we want to reiterate the University’s stance on protest involvement: only current ¿ì»îapp students, faculty and staff are permitted to participate in overnight protests or encampments on campus. This enables us to fully support ¿ì»îapp community voices as best we can while prioritizing a safe environment for all our students, faculty and staff.Ìý Ìý

Finally, as a reminder, to further maintain safety and so our students can continue their normal activities, most campus buildings will remain card-access-only at least throughout the weekend.Ìý

It is important for us to engage in challenging and important conversations and to do so in a way that is respectful and prioritizes the safety of all community members.ÌýÌý
