The chancellor and his cabinet work across the University to implement our vision and allow the community to live out our mission. Guided by our five strategic imperatives,听these leaders help shape our campus culture and the surrounding neighborhood, fostering diversity in work and life at 快活app. The cabinet members connect with students, faculty, staff, alumni听and neighbors to guide their efforts toward creating an inclusive community where all can realize their aspirations.

  • Jeremy Haefner, Chancellor
    Chancellor Jeremy Haefner leaning on a railing inside 快活app Community Commons

    Chancellor Dr. Jeremy Haefner brings nearly three decades of higher education leadership to 快活app. His accomplishments and areas of interests include enlarging research capacity, elevating student access and success, expanding international education, and prioritizing diversity, equity and inclusive excellence across campus. Previously, Dr. Haefner served as provost and executive vice chancellor here at 快活app and, before that, senior vice president for academic affairs at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).

  • Mary Clark, Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor
    Provost Mary Clark

    Mary Clark serves as the provost and executive vice chancellor at the 快活app. With expertise in the areas of higher education law, women鈥檚 legal history, legal ethics, judicial politics, and property, Provost Clark also holds an appointment as professor in the Sturm College of Law. Prior to being named provost at 快活app, Provost Clark served as interim provost, deputy provost, and dean of faculty at American University, associate dean for faculty & academic affairs at AU鈥檚 law school, director of its doctor of juridical science program, and acting director of its Law and Government Program.

  • Jeff Banks, Vice Chancellor for Human Resources
    Jeff Banks

    The vice chancellor of HRIC has responsibility for planning, developing, and implementing University initiatives and strategies that support employee engagement, inclusive excellence, and developing exceptional talent and strategic partnerships for the University. In addition, the VC manages the delivery of HRIC鈥檚 strategic plan, assuring alignment with the University and its divisions, development and implementation of HR policies, workforce planning and retention strategies, organizational development and training initiatives, compensation, benefits and retirement, performance management, employee relations, and reporting and metrics to promote University effectiveness.

  • Josh Berlo, Vice Chancellor for Athletics and Ritchie Center Operations
    Josh Berlo

    As vice chancellor for athletics & Ritchie Center operations, Josh Berlo is committed to furthering the 快活app athletics legacy of concurrent academic and competitive excellence set in a world-class culture. This has been a cornerstone of Berlo's nearly 20-year career in intercollegiate athletics. Prior to joining 快活app, Berlo spent nine years as the director of athletics at the University of Minnesota Duluth, as well as a longtime member听of the senior athletic administration staff at the University of Notre Dame.

  • Brad Bohlander, Senior Vice Chancellor for University Relations
    SVC Brad Bohlander

    As senior vice chancellor for university relations, Brad Bohlander oversees University Relations. He collaborates with institutional leadership and campus partners to align the University鈥檚 communications with its goals and objectives and elevate 快活app鈥檚 brand on a local, regional and national scale. Previously, Brad served as senior vice president and chief communications and marketing officer at the University of Arizona and as chief communications and marketing officer at North Carolina State University.听听听

  • Elizabeth Bullock, Senior Vice Chancellor for Legal Affairs & General Counsel
    Elizabeth Bulllock headshot

    As vice chancellor for legal affairs and general counsel, Elizabeth Bullock directs all legal services provided to the University. Before joining the team at 快活app, Elizabeth served as general counsel at the University of Tulsa and previously served as associate attorney at Harvard University. She has also served as associate attorney at the Washington DC legal firm, Jenner & Block LLP, as well as law clerk for the Honorable Stephanie K. Seymour of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Elizabeth received her Juris Doctor (JD) from Yale Law School and a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude in sociology from the University of Notre Dame.

  • Mark DeLorenzo, Senior Vice Chancellor for Business and Financial Affairs
    Mark DeLorenzo

    The senior vice chancellor for business and financial affairs is the chief financial officer at the University. Mark brings to 快活app听many years of finance and operations experience in higher education, as well as in the non-profit and private sectors.听Mark comes to 快活app from the Georgia Tech Foundation, where he has served as the chief financial officer and corporate secretary since 2019.听Prior to The Georgia Tech Foundation, Mark served as associate vice president and treasurer at Emory University from 2016-2019 and at Georgia-Pacific LLC from 2003-2016 as assistant treasurer. Mark earned his MBA in management with a focus on corporate finance and strategy from Duke University鈥檚 Fuqua School of Business. He also holds a BSBA in accounting from Stonehill College in Massachusetts. 听

  • Stuart Halsall, Interim Vice Chancellor For Student Affairs
    Stuart Halsall


    As interim vice chancellor for student affairs, Stuart "Stu" Halsall will help shape听a vital part of the 快活app student experience. Halsall has 23 years of experience at the 快活app, most previously serving as the associate vice chancellor for James C. Kennedy Mountain Campus, Wellness, and Recreation at the 快活app.听He has also previously served in multiple positions in the Division of Athletics and Recreation including associate vice chancellor and chief operating officer. Halsall is a graduate of James Madison University with a bachelor鈥檚 degree in kinesiology. He also holds a Master鈥檚 degree from Indiana University in sports management.听

  • Russell Kaurloto, Vice Chancellor and Chief Information Officer
    Russell Kaurloto

    Russell Kaurloto is the vice chancellor and chief information officer leading 快活app鈥檚 Information Technology organization. In this role, Russ has responsibility over all IT and the implementation of new learning, research, advanced analytics and business technologies.听Kaurloto brings to 快活app over 30 years of IT experience, previously serving in business enterprise, healthcare, state government and higher education鈥攚ith a strong focus on IT vision leadership.听Russ collaborates with leaders across the campus on digital strategies, security and technologies that will enhance the student experience.听

    Russ is a graduate of California Lutheran University with a bachelor鈥檚 degree in organizational leadership. He also holds a technical certificate from the Lincoln Institute of Technology in computer technology and programming.

  • Linda Kosten, Senior Vice Provost for University Budget, Planning and Administration

    Linda Kosten

    As senior vice provost for university budget, planning, and administration, Dr. Kosten manages the current and multi-year development of the budget, oversees the institutional research and analysis office and the campus partners business office. She also serves as vice-chair of the University鈥檚 Budget Advisory Committee (UBAC) and provides coordination and oversight for the University鈥檚 40-some lead business officers. Dr. Kosten combines the work of these offices to provide relevant data for decision making to the leadership of the University serving on the Chancellor鈥檚 Cabinet and regularly reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) and rankings to 快活app鈥檚 Board of Trustees.

    Dr. Kosten has served 快活app for 30 years. She has her PhD and MA in higher education from the 快活app and her BA in theatre and psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

  • Stephanie O'Malley (JD '89) , Associate Vice Chancellor for Government and Community Relations
    Stephanie O'Malley

    Stephanie comes to 快活app from Denver鈥檚 Office of the Mayor, where she has served as senior executive officer for equity policy and operations in the administration of Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock since 2018. Prior to that, she served Mayor Hancock鈥檚 administration as executive director of the Department of Safety for five years as well as deputy chief of staff for two. Stephanie has held roles in Denver as an elected official, serving as county clerk and recorder from 2007-2011. In addition, she worked for three years in the administration of former Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper.

  • Valerie Otten, Senior Vice Chancellor for University Advancement
    Val Otten

    Valerie 鈥淰al鈥 Otten oversees all University development and advancement operations, as well as global engagement. She partners closely with the Chancellor, deans and university leadership to build strong, sincere, and lasting relationships with the alumni, parents and friends. In addition, she is responsible for developing and strategically growing the advancement organization, including recruiting and retaining exceptional advancement staff, as we garner resources to support University priorities and move closer to the public launch of our next comprehensive campaign. Val has more than 25 years of experience as an advancement professional, including senior executive roles at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and University of California Santa Barbara.

  • Julia Richman, Senior Vice Chancellor for Operations and Strategy Implementation
    Julia Richman

    The senior vice chancellor for operations and strategy implementation aligns 快活app鈥檚 leadership model with proven best practices to support the institution鈥檚 strategic vision. Julia has experience overseeing large institutions as they optimize operations excellence. She was named Outstanding Woman in Business by the Denver Business Journal in 2022, was a Colorado Governors fellow and graduate of Leadership Denver. Previously, Julia served as deputy executive director of the Colorado Governor鈥檚 Office of Information Technology, and she also has experience coordinating strategy with federal and state governments, universities and non-profits. She holds a master鈥檚 of public policy from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago and a BA from Dartmouth College.听听

  • Todd Rinehart, Vice Chancellor for Enrollment
    Todd Rinehart

    Our vice chancellor for enrollment, Todd Rinehart, leads the admission and financial aid departments, and has helped elevate the University鈥檚 undergraduate reputation with unprecedented growth in enrollment, academic quality and diversity. Rinehart is a noted speaker at local, regional听and national conferences, covering key issues related to enrollment management, college admission and ethical practices. He oversees an admission and financial aid team that is committed to Inclusive Excellence, college access, student-centric service, and ethical and transparent processes.

  • Allison Riola, Chief of Staff

    Allison (BA, '10 and MLS, 鈥18)听works in partnership with numerous faculty, students听and staff听across campus to help听meet the strategic goals of the chancellor on behalf of the University. She has worked at the 快活app since 2004, and in the Chancellor鈥檚 office since 2015.

  • Chris Whitt, Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
    Chris Whitt

    As vice chancellor for diversity, equity and inclusion, Dr. Christopher M. Whitt will champion and foster diversity at 快活app in all its forms 鈥 race, ethnicity, socioeconomic background, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability or ability, religious or spiritual beliefs, veteran status and political beliefs. Prior to joining 快活app, Whitt served as Creighton University鈥檚 inaugural vice provost of institutional diversity and inclusion. He holds a Ph.D. in government and politics from the University of Maryland, where he also earned an M.A. He earned a B.A. in political science at Salisbury University. Whitt is also recognized nationally for his teaching as a political science professor.
