Intro to Climbing: Belay Techniques

Sept. 23 & Sept. 25, 2024

5:00 - 7:00 PM

In this two-session class we cover the most modern belay techniques, how to tie into a climbing rope, and how to properly fit climbing equipment. Day two will cover basic climbing movement and technique – while giving climbers the practice needed to pass a Belay Exam and any indoor gym.

Leave No Trace Awareness Class

October 2, 2024

6:00 - 8:00 PM

This introductory workshop is two hours long and tailored for college students and outdoor enthusiasts. Get familiar with the 7 Leave No Trace principals as well as the best practices for specific outdoor activities like wilderness backpacking, rock climbing, and mountain biking in many Colorado ecosystems.

Intro to Climbing: Basic Knots & Anchors

November 8, 2024

1:00 - 3:00 PM

This introductory sport climbing anchor building course will introduce several best practices and over-arching principles for anchor building. You'll get hands-on practice and instruction of several anchoring techniques with two-bolt sport anchors.

Wilderness First Aid

Nov. 16 & Nov. 17, 2024

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

The WFA is an introduction to wilderness medicine, a great way to develop basic life support skills and go beyond urban first aid courses. This training focuses on prevention, assessment, and treatment of environmental illnesses, recognizing and stabilizing life threats caused by trauma, and calling for a rescue in the event of a wilderness emergency.
