After protecting and marketing Intellectual Property, we select licensing partners. University Intellectual Property can be licensed to an established company or a startup company, depending on the type of technology. Faculty-driven startups play an important role in University licensing.

The relationships we build with student and faculty startups help promote entrepreneurship and innovation throughout the ¿ì»îapp community. In developing an Intellectual Property portfolio for a business venture or startup, we will work to further the commercialization goals of the entrepreneur while balancing the University's goals of research and scholarship.

We will also craft an agreement between the University and a startup company to ensure the use of University Intellectual Property aligns with our policies and facilitates the successful development of the project
