The Office of Diversity, Equity,听and Inclusion鈥檚听(ODEI) is excited to announce the launch of its Fellows听Program for the 2020-2021 Academic Year.听 This program will听advance the work of听diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) by creating a capacity-building resource听within and alongside academic听& non-academic听departments at the 快活app.听听
The ODEI Fellows听are meant to help 快活app鈥檚 academic and non-academic divisions听advance听diversity, equity,听and inclusion听efforts听with support (both in terms of funding and training)听and coordination听from the University at large.听As a听unit-based听role, ODEI Fellows听will work within the division听toward realizing 快活app鈥檚 vision outlined within the听2020-2021 DEI Action Items听and its goals听to begin听creating听a coordinated, consistent, and connected leadership and accountability structure for diversity, equity, and inclusion at all levels of the university.听
Over the course of the听fellowship, ODEI听Fellows will听work towards听embedding and expanding 快活app鈥檚 vision of听DEI听within the framework of the university. Specifically, the program will help to听incubate and build division-level DEI leadership听to:听听
- Support minoritized faculty or staff
- Infuse diversity, equity, and inclusion development into the core work of colleagues听听
- Work with leaders in the division to create and monitor unit-level DEI strategic planning and implementation听听
- Identify and implement best practices for search processes and subsequent retention
- Communicate DEI advocacy efforts within their unit and beyond听
There are 10 openings for ODEI Fellows. University leadership in each division has been asked to nominate individuals for听this program. Fellows will be named no later than November 1,听2020, and will serve through June 30, 2021.
